When it comes to art I’ve always been amazed at those who can draw and make it seem so effortless. This mainly stems from the fact that my illustration skills are limited to stick figures at best. It’s probably important to note that I’m convinced the talent skipped a generation in my family since my mom can recreate just about anything on paper.
About 3 years ago when I broke down and bought my second iPod (thanks to the first one turning into a $400 paperweight) a friend recommended I look into GelaSkins, a seamless adhesive covering which featured artwork from various artists. After browsing dozen of designs, I instantly fell in love with a piece by Alex Noriega, an illustrator from Barcelona, Spain whose work includes robots, clouds, animals and most notably a spectrum of beautiful colors.
I haven’t followed up on his work until recently but from reading up on his blog, it seems he has been taking a more mature approach to his work. Either way, I’m still in love with what he’s creating and always look forward to his incredible work.
Unfortunately, he doesn’t seem to have any pieces currently for sale (I hope that changes soon) but you can still buy both his iPod and laptop skins from Gelaskins in the meantime.
