Today brought about new tunes from the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s and Kelly Clarkson. Rejoice! Between Paramore and Jenny Lewis/Rilo Kiley in heavy rotation on my iTunes, it’s nice to throw in some new music into the mix.

I confess that I haven’t really been a fan of the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s since their Fever to Tell album, but their latest release It’s Blitz! seems promising. The first single Zero is interestingly dancey, causing it to get stuck in my head. Check out the music video below which features Karen O fox trotting about downtown in vinyl and spikes:

And from indie/alt rock we swing on over to mainstream pop.

I must have missed the whole American Idol phenomena when it first came out, but by chance I happened to see Kelly’s rendition of Mariah Carey’s “Without You”. It was during her performance that I realized – this chick has some crazy vocal talent. And yes, she has become one of the biggest pop stars over the past few years. But if you ever catch an interview with her, she’s never shy about her tell-it-how-it-is attitude which I dig – and she can be really dorky. What’s not to like?

Even in her interview this morning during Good Morning America (thanks O!) Clarkson kept it real by saying that she was photoshopped (video below). Hi5 Kelly!

Hate her or love her, Kelly’s new single is crazy catchy.
