During a trip to South Beach earlier this evening, we stopped at a Starbucks on Lincoln Road to refuel from our dinner at Grillfish. Normally this wouldn’t be anything to write about, but I was pleasantly surprised to find artwork by Irek Lavazzon on the walls. Back in April I wrote about my initial sighting of Lavazzon’s artwork in Le Cafe (MiMo District) and how I loved it. The artwork on display at this Starbucks is similar to the style of his other pieces, but includes President Barack Obama, Dolce & Gabbana logos, and of course the iconic Marilyn Monroe and Salvador Dali (my favorite). Pardon the bad pic as my iPhone was all I had on hand.

Since we were in the area we also swung by the Art Center to round out our thirst for new art. (Post including my favorite artists from the gallery coming later this week). In short, it was a great way to end a soggy weekend in Miami.
